To empty the trash automatically on mac, follow the steps mentioned below:
- Start by clicking on “Finder“ given on the menu bar at the top of the screen. From the “Finder” drop-down menu, select “Preferences’.
- “Finder Preferences” pop-up will appear on the screen, click on the “Advanced” button on it which has a gear icon.
- From the “Advanced” preferences, navigate to the “Remove items from the Trash after 30 days” option. Click on the checkbox given by the option to enable it.
Now mac will automatically empty the Trash every 30 days. To disable the option, uncheck the “Remove items from the Trash after 30 days” from Preferences.
