Backing up your device is a process to save your device data somewhere else in order to have a copy of important data in case the device gets corrupted. It is very important to back up your data. In iPhones/iPads we have iTunes and iCloud to keep the copy of our data.
Here is how you do it using iTunes and iCloud.
BACKING UP DATA WITH ICLOUD
Some people find it hard to back up their data using iCloud, it might seem tricky but in real it’s not. Here are the steps to do it easily;
STEP 1:
Connect you device with the Wi-Fi network.
STEP 2:
Go to settings in you device, Tap on your name which is given at the top of the settings menu. Also make sure you have your e-mail logged in.
STEP 3:
Tap on iCloud, there you will find a “Back up Now” option, tap it and you’re good to go. Make sure your device is connected to the Wi-Fi network till the process is completed.
Settings > [Tap on name] > iCloud > Back Up Now.
If you want your iPhone to automatically backup your data on daily basis, here’s what you need to do >
Settings > [Tap on name] > iCloud > [turn on iCloud Backup] > plug in your phone to a power source > connect to Wi-Fi network > [turn off your phone’s screen]
BACKING UP DATA WITH ITUNES
To back up your phone using iTunes, make sure that you have the latest version of it downloaded on your personal computer.
STEP 1:
Connect your phone to your Personal Computer using the working power cable and open iTunes.
STEP 2:
When you will connect your device with iTunes, you’ll get a message “Trust This Computer” on your phone’s screen, tap on Trust.
STEP 3:
Open iTunes, click on phone icon given on the second bar. All the iPhone items will be displayed. On the right you’ll see “Backups” panel, Click on “This computer” and choose “Back Up Now” option.
All the data on your phone will be backed up in your Personal Computer. You can also copy selected data from your device.
