Changing Display Name on Google Mail
The display name of your Gmail account can only be changed through a desktop browser. Gmail mobile apps for Android, iPhone, and iPad don’t have the option to change usernames. Here’s how you can do it on a desktop browser:
First, launch your favorite browser and go to Gmail’s Official website then log-in to your already existing account.
Next, click on the gear icon to open Gmail’s “Settings” menu.
Click on the “See All Settings” option in the settings drop-down menu.
In the “Settings” menu, select the “Accounts and Import” tab. By default, you’ll go to the “General” tab in settings.
Scroll down to the “Send mail as” section. Select the “edit info” option next to your display name and e-mail address to change your display name.
“Edit email address” window will appear. Here, click on the bubble next to the text box and then type a new display name. Click on the “Save Changes” button to save the new Display name.
The next time you’ll send someone an email, your new display name will be shown to the recipient.
