First login to your mac using the current password.
Next, click on the Apple logo on the top-left corner of the screen.
From the drop-down menu, select the “System Preferences” option.

On the Users & Groups window, you will see the list of users in the left-hand pane. Click on the username whose password you want to change and from the right-hand side of the window click on the “Change Password…” button.
