How to Check How Much RAM is in your Mac
Here’s how you can check your mac’s RAM:
First, click on the “Apple” icon on the top-left corner of the screen. From the drop-down menu, select the “About This Mac” option.
From the pop-up window, click on the “Memory” tab.
Here, you will find a detailed look at the RAM in your Mac. The blue box on the upper-left corner of the pop-up window shows the total amount of RAM installed.
Below that, you will find the different slots on your Mac and the size of RAM each module has. This page also shows which type of memory modules your Mac uses. i.e. the image below displays that Mac uses “1600 MHz DDR3” memory modules.
If you want to increase your RAM, click on “Memory Upgrade Instructions” which will take you to the webpage where Apple explains what exactly you need to do to upgrade it.
Close the “About This Mac” window after you are done gaining knowledge about your mac’s RAM.
