How to Configure Exploit Protection Settings in Windows 10

Windows Defender is a powerful Windows tool that keeps the system safe from viruses. Exploit protection is one of its features that help to protect the system from malware that uses exploits to infect device and spread. It consists of a number to mitigations that can be applied to particular apps or the whole operating system.

You can configure exploit protection settings from Windows Defender.

Configure Windows Defender Exploit Protection Settings

In order to configure Windows Defender Exploit Protection Settings, follow the steps given below:

  1. Open Windows Security through the System tray or by Searching from Search bar given at Taskbar
  2. From the Windows Security, Select App & Browser control from the left panelApps and browser control
  3. Scroll down the right panel of the App & Browser control settingsExploit protection
  4. You will find the Exploit protection heading, click on exploit protection settings option under the heading.Exploit protection system settings
  5. From here you can edit all the settings, add/remove all the programs.

How to add/remove the program from Exploit Protection Settings

  1. Open Windows Security through the System tray or by Searching from Search bar given at Taskbar
  2. From the Windows Security, Select App & Browser control from the left panelApps and browser control
  3. Scroll down the right panel of the App & Browser control settingsExploit protection
  4. You will find the Exploit protection heading, click on exploit protection settings option under the heading.Exploit protection system settings
  5. Click on the Program settings in the Exploit Protection SettingsProgram settings
  6. Click on the + sign given at the top of the list to add programs to be exploit protected.add program to eploit protection settings
  7. Select whether you want to add by file name or choose the exact file path to the exploit protection.
  8. Now if you want to remove the program from these settings, simply click on the Program/App name and click on the Remove option.remove programs from exploit protection setting
