Microsoft Word saves all the documents to DOC or DOCX formats. There are very few word processors that support DOCX file formats. While using macOS, you can convert the Word Docx files to Pages by following a few simple steps. Converting the Word files to Pages allows the users to easily edit them and view them.
Converting DOCX File to Pages
To convert DOCX files to pages, you must have the Pages app installed on the system. Once the installation is complete, you can double click on the Docx file and it will open in the Pages app. As soon as the file opens, it might show up a message “This document has missing fonts” which shows the incompatibility.
To figure it out, you need to fix this message and convert the DOCX file to pages. All you need is to replace the Calibri font to the available fonts. This can be done by clicking on the drop-down menu next to the missing font.
As soon as you replace the fonts go to the File > Save option and the save dialog box will appear. Choose the location you want to save the file to. The Pages by default will save it to the Pages file format.
Now a new file will be there in the location where you have saved the Pages file with preserved formatting of the original DOCX file.
As the Word for Mac is not that much reliable than the Pages app so many of the people prefer to have their documents in the Pages file format.
