Often you need to copy the error code or details to search on the internet. By default Windows 10 does not allows copying the text from error messages or warning. As many of the dialogues and error messages give vague details about the event so the diagnosis process requires copying the text from the dialogues.
Copy Text from Dialogs and Error Messages

Copying an Error Message in Notepad
A more simple way to extract the text from the dialog box is by using the default Windows method:
- As soon as the error message dialog box appears, press and hold CTRL with INSERT Button.
- Open Notepad either from the Run or the from the start menu
- Paste the copied text using CTRL + V or by right-clicking on the text area and choose Paste from the Context menu within the application.
