With iOS 13, a lot of cool new features were introduced for Apple’s devices. One of those features was Swipe Typing. In Android, keyboards swipe typing is very common but Apple took good amount of time to introduce this feature to its devices. Now that it’s here and you can easily use it on your device, some of you might not want to use it on a regular basis.
Swipe typing feature is by default enabled in iOS 13. In this guide, I will explain how you can disable this feature.
Disabling Swipe Typing Feature
Follow the steps given below to disable swipe typing in iPhone’s keyboard
- Go to Settings on your iPhone
- Tap on General in Settings
- Next, tap on Keyboard option available in General
- To disable the swipe to type, Toggle off “Swipe to type” option.
In order to turn swipe typing back on, toggle on the “Swipe to type” switch
Disabling “Delete Slide-to-Type By Word”
This new slide-to-type feature lets iPhone users type words using slide method. There’s another option that comes with it, the “Delete Slide-to-Type By Word” deletes the entire word typed by using the Sliding method when the Backspace key is tapped. By default, this option is enabled.
To turn off “Delete Slide-to-Type By Word” option follow the steps mentioned below:
- Go to Settings on your iPhone
- Tap on General in Settings
- Next, tap on Keyboard option available in General
- Now to disable the “Delete Slide-to-Type by Word” option, toggle it off.
