Muting Yourself on a Zoom Call
Here’s how you can do it:
- Launch the Zoom app on your Mac, PC, or android and join a zoom meeting. Learn How to Join a Meeting in Zoom
- Bring up the toolbar by hovering your mouse on the Zoom window on Mac or PC. To pop it up on iPhone, iPad, or Android, tap on the screen until the toolbar appears on the bottom of the screen.
- On the Toolbar, locate the mute icon which looks like a microphone, and click on it to mute yourself on a Zoom call.
The crossed mic icon depicts that your mic has been muted. “Mute” will be changed to “Unmute”. To unmute yourself, tap on the same microphone icon again and you will be unmuted.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut to mute your mic on Zoom. If you’re a Windows 10 user, press and hold down the “Alt + A” key on the keyboard to mute or unmute mic. If you’re a Mac user, press and hold “Shift + Command + A” altogether to mute or unmute yourself on a Zoom call.
