If you used your Microsoft account in order to sign in your pc but forgot the password, head over to Microsoft official website and order a password reset. It will send you a code. Just as you received the code, now you can put that code in the verification box. Type the new password, re-write it and click on Next.
How to Reset Windows Account Password
If you’re the user of Windows 10 1803 user or preceding, you can reset the password from the login screen. You will find a “Reset Password” option given under your username. All you need to do is answer the security question that you’ve set while setting the previous password and enter the new password.
You can also use Alt + Ctrl + Delete keys if you’re already signed in. Select “Change a Password” from the options and reset the password.
How to Reset the Pin from the Login Screen
If you have set a pin on your Windows account and you forgot the pin. All you have to do is click on “I forgot my Pin” given under the Pin box, enter the password of your Microsoft Account and click next.
Enter the code sent to you via text or email, fill in the required information and you’re good to go.
How to Reset Windows Account Password using Command Prompt
If you’re already logged into your account and want to change the Password, you can do it through Command Prompt. Follow the steps mentioned below:
- Open Command prompt by typing “cmd” in the search bar on the taskbar.
- Run it as administration
- Type the following command
“Net user account password”
Instead of typing “account” insert your account name
- Follow the next steps and press Enter once you’re done.
