Pin an Icon to the Dock on Mac
There are a couple of ways to pin the most frequently used application to the dock on Mac. Follow the guide to learn how to do it:
- Navigation to the app that you want to pin to the dock, click on it, and drag it to the dock. The existing icons will make room for the new icon, now drop the icon to the space made for it.
- You can also pin an already running application by right-clicking on its icon and selection “Options” from the menu. From the extended options, the menu clicks on the “Keep in Dock” option. The application will thus be pinned to the dock.
- If you are trying to pin a folder that won’t stick to the dock, there exists an easy way to do it. All you have to do is make its alias and add it to the dock. To do so, navigate to the folder in Finder and right-click on it. Select the “Make Alias” option from the context menu that appears. Now drag the alias to the dock.
