Every time you connect an iOS device i.e. either iPhone or iPod, iTunes automatically launches. It is a very irritating thing when you just want to put your phone to charge or just want to copy the data from it. This is because iTunes is set to automatically synchronize the data and as soon as the device connects to the computer, iTunes automatically launches and starts synchronizing.
Stop iTunes to Automatically Launch when you Connect a Device
It is very easy to stop iTunes to automatically launch when your phone is connected to the computer. All you need is to turn off automatic synchronization from iTunes. Make sure you have the latest iTunes version so in case a new update comes it may reinstall iTunes and that is might possible that the settings go back to the default.
Now open iTunes and find the iTunes Preferences that is from the Edit menu > Preferences. A new window will appear containing different settings. Click on the Devices tab from the Preferences window and check the option ‘Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically’. Now Click on the OK button.
That’s all, now your iDevice will not automatically sync as you connect the device for charging or copying data. Also, iTunes will not automatically open up as soon as you connect an iOS device.
