We all use the wireless internet connection in our daily routine to browse the internet on mobiles, laptop or on Personal Computer. When you troubleshoot the error it says “Wi-Fi doesn’t have a Valid IP Configuration” and it doesn’t provide a fix for it because you have to do it yourself. Reset IP Address
The first solution to this issue is by resetting the IP. This could be done as followed
- In the Start Search box (Windows+Q) and type cmd to open the Command Prompt. Run Command Prompt as administrator.
- When the Command Prompt appears on your screen, type in the following commands
netsh winsock reset
Press Enter and type in another command
netsh int ip reset
Press Enter after entering the command and Exit the Command Prompt
Now try restarting your PC to check if the issue is solved. If this fix didn’t work for your Computer, move to the next fix.

Release & Renew the IP Address
To release and renew the IP Address follow the steps
- In the Start Search box (Windows+Q) and type cmd to open the Command Prompt. Run Command Prompt as administrator.
- When the Command Prompt appears on your screen, type in the following commands
ipconfig /release
Press enter and type another command
ipconfig /renew
Press Enter and Exit the command prompt. Restart your PC to check if the issue is fixed. If this fix didn’t work for you, move to the next fix.

Uninstall the Wireless Adapter Driver
Users claimed that uninstalling and reinstalling the Wireless Adapter Driver have fixed this issue for their PCs. To Uninstall and reinstall the Wireless Adapter Driver follow the steps
- From the Start menu Search type Device Manager and click on the result. Or press Windows key+X and select Device Manager from the list.
- In Device Manager Window, find Network Adapters and expand it. Right click on your Wireless device and choose Uninstall.
- You will be asked for the confirmation to uninstall the driver. Confirm it and click on OK.
Now Restart your PC, this will automatically reinstall and driver. This could fix the issue for you, but if it didn’t work for your PC try the next fix.

Manually Set your IP Address
To manually set your IP Address to follow the steps given below:
- From the Start menu Search type Network Connections and click on the result. Or press Windows key+X and select Network Connections from the list.
- In the Network Connections window, click on Change Adapter Options given on the right side of the window.
- Now you can view your Network Adapter and can change its settings. Right click on your Wireless Connection and choose Properties from the menu.
- Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then click on Properties. This will open Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) window.
- Choose to Use the following IP address: and type the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway, preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server. After entering all the data, click on OK.
